With 2011 lurking just around the corner and "top 10" and "best of" lists plastering the web, I thought I'd throw in another compilation by ending my 2010 blog posting with this "Vegan 100" from The Picky Vegan. The items I have tried are in bold; the items first tasted during the past year are also marked with an asterisk (*). As part of my year-end reflection, I've selected some of my favorite vegan food ventures from 2010--just those shared here on Bread Without Butter, because choosing favorites from around the blogosphere is a much more daunting task, given the volume of amazing food produced by bloggers everywhere on a continual basis. I selected one food/meal/experience from each month and listed them all chronologically for convenience.
January: homemade soymilk and tofu
February: recipe testing for Caribbean Vegan
March: baking from The Bread Baker's Apprentice
April: Fresh Vegetable Lasagne with Tofu "Ricotta"
May: Yeasted Roasted Banana Bread
June: cooking from The Enlightened Kitchen
July: culinary "travel"
August: discovering kelp noodles
September: homemade noodles
October: getting my sugar fix
November: all of Vegan MoFo! (Seriously, it was an awesome--albeit exhausting--month!)
December: eat-in bibimbap
What are your favorite food projects/moments from 2010 (here or otherwise)? I'd love to know, so please feel free to share. Best wishes for a safe and happy new year!
I'd say you had a very adventurous year, my dear!
ReplyDeleteOh you have to try grilled portebella, help milk, lychee and aloe! I only have golden beets if I juice it with apples. I actually hate fennel, so you are not missing anything there by not trying it. Happy New year to you!
